A Quick Catch-up

Oops, been a bit lax in recent months and the latest news has been growing more and more out of date, so here’s a short update.

The customer portfolio has grown, with the addition of a couple of websites for a community arts and performance group in Wiltshire.  Dance Circle is a group who wanted a WordPress website that they could update themselves but needed an initial design and installation. Not a problem for us, and they were delighted with our speed and price! Sing Alive, from the same organisers, already had a substantial WordPress website but were looking to move it to a new host. Although this sounds quite daunting, it’s actually quite straightforward with WordPress and we were happy to oblige. We now supply ongoing support and backup for both sites.

Next up was a website redesign for Silchester International Investors. Not a big site but in need of a revamp and, of course, an opportunity to make it responsive so that it looks good on whatever device is viewing it, be it smartphone, tablet or conventional PC. Job done and completed last month.

Cliff Railway gets Improved Website from Studio Devon

Cliff Railway CarriagesEarly in 2014, English Riviera attraction Babbacombe Cliff Railway asked Studio Devon for help in replacing its website. They found their existing website difficult to maintain and were concerned that it was not working properly for the many holidaymakers who were browsing it on their mobile devices.

Delighted to help, we had the ideal answer. We set about designing a bespoke website on the powerful WordPress website platform. The contents of the existing web pages were transferred into the new format which was able to present the extensive Cliff Railway information in a striking and responsive design.

We followed this up with a training session for key Railway staff who quickly picked up the intuitive and straightforward CMS (Content Management System) features that make WordPress so popular.

In less than a month the Babbacombe Cliff Railway website was ready, hosted with a new top value service provider and updated with the new season’s information.

History Society looks to the Future

We were recently asked to provide a website for Babbacombe & St Marychurch Local History Society.  This thriving society has a growing membership and is ambitious to attract more people and saw that a website would be an ideal communication tool as well as being a good advert for prospective members.

Their initial brief was for a basic site to allow key contributors to post information about the society and keep a calendar of upcoming events.  Studio Devon realised that a site based on the Wordpress content management system would be an ideal solution.  Not only does it allow society members to write their own content but it can be easily expanded in future, by the addition of plug-ins, to cater for the extra functionality that the society may require as they place more demands on their website.

Set up of the site was very quick, as was the training required for those people who were going to manage the content.  Visit the site here to see the results.

CMS Website Portfolio Grows

Studio Devon is proud to announce the completion of its second website based on the WordPress CMS tool.

All the Right Notes Logo

The website, for marketing business All the Right Notes, was developed from a standard WordPress template with added bespoke tweaks to give a completely custom look.  This approach enabled us to deliver something quickly and inexpensively, while taking advantage of the wealth of CMS (Content Management System) functionality that WordPress offers.

Good luck to the new business, here’s hoping the website helps to attract lots of new customers!
